INTERACTIVE 3D MODEL
CLIENT
School of Dentistry, University of Dundee. This project was part of my Medical Art Internship
THE CHALLENGE
Students at the Dental School have to learn about various techniques that involve complex anatomy. Visualizing structures in a 3D space can help provide a better understanding of spacial relationships and a clearer picture of the anatomical structure that are relevant to the procedure.
THE PROJECT
We created an interactive animated 3D model to illustrate the inferior alveolar nerve block, an anaesthetic technique that involves several anatomical structures and landmarks. My role in this project was to create and texturize the soft tissue (tongue, gums, muscles and nerves).
The model was staff picked as a great example of the educational use of the 3D platform Sketchfab.
