THE CHALLENGE
Lecturers at the University Medical Centre Groningen want to provide online learning material to medical students.
We need beautiful and scientifically accurate images to accompany the text content of our E-Learning modules.
THE SOLUTION
I can communicate with the lecturers or doctors, and quickly understand the key messages that the students need to learn. Then I will translate this complex information into images that help students understand and learn. We'll create a library of medical images for you to reuse in any of your projects.

SENTINEL LYMPH NODES
Sentinel lymph node is a technique used to detect tumor cell spread to avoid performing very invasive surgery on patients who don't need it.
Describing a new surgical technique at a conference can be challenging without images, especially before an audience with mixed levels of expertise. The goal of this project was to create very clean images that are easy to understand to support the speaker's explanation.

The first set of slightly more complex images is designed to appeal to an expert audience.

These simpler images can be used to inform patients or to break down the complex images in steps.
One of these figures was later featured in the journal article "Elective Neck Dissection or Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Early Stage Oral Cavity Cancer Patients: The Dutch Experience"
